Our main careers often end in our 50s – what will we do with 25-30 healthy years?

Our 50s is when most of us end up leaving our long-term employers, for many faceted reasons.

This is also the time when most of us reassess life and work, when we value different things than earlier in our careers and when we have an urge to give back and help the next generation. We have a whole new – and hitherto unnamed – career and life stage that society and business is finally slowly waking up to.

How to use this longevity gift as an asset to ourselves and society? There is every reason why we should stay economically active for much longer than today, and no good reason – apart from ill health - why we should not.

But how can we find work with meaning, where we can use our experience to help solve societal issues – Purpose?

This is why I wrote ‘Purpose & Impact: How Executives are Creating Meaningful Second Careers’.

"We are living longer and technological change is transforming the future of work. How we think about careers and jobs is an existential question. This book is a must read for all ages."
